Fabric blog tour, Taking Flight Fabrics

leftovers

Well it is here!  My Turn for Fabric Blog Tour!

Good morning everyone!

This is so exciting to do a final reveal and show you the process of my quilt!

I am so thankful to Amanda Brandl for inviting me to do this tour and for KandKfabric for giving me this awesome fabric to play with.  Amanda has designed two ranges of fabric - Taking Flight and Bush Gum Blossums.  These are her first ranges to be launched onto the market.  I know others have said this, but I can't say it enough, it is such high quality fabric and is amazingly so soft.  My bolt range bundle of fabric is in a truck on its way to me at the moment and I just can't wait.  I really need to make a dress from one of these fabrics.

I did some designing using my quiltography app on my iPad   I decided that a carpenters wheel quilt would be ideal for this fabric.  It measures 39" so is ideal for a lap rug or a baby quilt.

I decided to use 5" squares as this will make it charm friendly quilt if anyone wants to try it themselves.  I will write another post with all the details of the pattern later in the week.  If I do this here it will leave you a novel and that is not the idea today but to give you a glimpse of these awesome fabrics.

Quilting in the Stables

Now I just knew this little beauty had to accompany me to Harewood house -Scots on the Swamp Fundraiser where I was doing a demonstration of my quilting endeavours.   I was in the stables again and this is a great place to showcase my quilts.   I then took Staring Feathered Friends Quilt on a tour of the house.  Here are the photos I took and you will see a few with some delightful people who were looking through the house when I took the photos.

Thanks for looking and reading my ramblings.   This is not all though, I will give you a rundown on the pattern and you can make your own Staring Feathered Friends Quilt.   I will be making kits of this on store next week right here so be sure to check them out!

I decided that the scraps I had leftover could not be wasted and I should do a giveaway!  Who doesn't love a giveaway right?  So leave me a comment and what you think it will be.  I will be doing a blog post on Good Friday and draw the winner of the giveaway!  here are a few sneak peaks for you.

So until next time, have an awesome week, once again many thanks for inviting me on this tour Amanda  it has been so much fun.  Check out everyone else's projects by using the #fabricblogtour or #takingflightfabrics or #bushgumblossomsfabrics and look on instagram feeds or here for links to everyones blog posts

Now as promised. I have a little giveaway and I have opened up a giveaway on my Instagram and Facebook pages.   I have made a little wall hanging or a table runner.  I will let you have a look at the photos.  I must apologise not letting you all know the winner earlier.  Life has become very hectic lately and I had a slight illness also.   My daughter is getting married in under 2 weeks and I am still madly making their wedding gift.

So without any more further ado I will announce the winner of the quilt and then the winners of the charm square packs for the Instagram and Facebook pages.

So I got the help of random generator to pick the winners.  The quilt will now belong to
Kat!  Congratulations
The charm packs will go to Instagram
Congratulations Mercurial Girl

And the Facebook winner is
Congratulations Darylene!

I have also been working hard to get my website up and running and I am offering Taking Flight for sale as yardage or as kit form for the Carpenters Wheel Quilt Kit.  After the wedding and when I work out how much of the Bush Gum Blossoms I have left I will add that to the online store here

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I am now returning to my sewing machine to work on the wedding gift.   Don’t forget to stop by regularly and see what is new and on the blog or in the store.

Until next time, have fun and keep creating,

Wendy
