Leaping into Spring!

Well I can't believe that winter is over for us!  I have been so busy creating that I haven't blogged again for 3 weeks.  So let me explain some of what I have been doing:-

Firstly I have sent this little art quilt to Berry Patchwork Shop for their quilt show and retreat.
It was entered in the One Red Thread Competition with a Theme for this year of Moulin Rouge

You can see other entries for this competition and others plus the winners here

My first ever Bonnie Hunter Mystery from Quiltville
The next finish this weekend was for my Mystery which i started at Christmas time.  This was from Bonnie Hunter and it was Celtic Solstice, as I changed colours and part of the design I am now calling this Blooming Celtic Solstice.  I am really please how this has come together.  My hubby loves it and it will be his couch quilt after I finish it

A finished top from My Quilt Along from Mishkas Playground
The last finish is my Delightful Stars Quilt.  This has been a Quilt Along which I have been doing with mishkas playground.  I have added a few stars and even designed one myself as I wanted a Square quilt, this measures 96" reason it is touching the ground.

Ok so I am feeling on top of the moon as these have been completed and crossed off my list.  I also have another couple which won't take long to finish also.  So with that I am planning on having the following completed
my storm at sea quilt
QAG quilt for a special person
Tote for a swap
Table Runner for a swap
my Star swap block
Lattice Quilt top
Also going to do some Christmas Decorations and items for sale
I am linking this post to Kathi at design originals by KC for her Laundry list, come over and check out her blog

So until later in the week when I chat with you all again,
have a wonderful time

Saturday moves into a slow stitching Sunday

My frame in its new position
I spent time on Saturday tidying up my craft area and managed to change the orientation of my quilt frame around.  I normally sat between the window and the frame to quilt.  I now can look out of the window as I quilt.

this is the centre looking toward my desk area

This became a wonderful achievement as I have been planning this move for awhile but never quite had the time or the helping hands since I have the largest size of poles in the frame at the moment.

On Sunday I was able to do some slow stitching to my Love Calms the Seas quilt and as you can see I have started to make some progress.  I am hoping to be able to move the quilt on the rods to a new section by the end of the week.

Just a few shots of Love Calms the Seas progress.  This week I am linking to Kathy's Quilts for a Slow Stitching Sunday and to My go go life for Sewjo Saturday

Motivation Mayhem Monthly Muster!
My exciting news is that I will be teaming up with my friend Kathi from Designs Originals by KC to host a link party.  We are calling it Motivation Mayhem Monthly Muster!  Our aim is to set goals and be accountable for them and we plan on  blogging  about them.  They will be for the month approaching and accounting for our goals from the past month.  We are hoping that you will join in with us and write a blog about your goals.  These are not necessarily quilting goals.

We plan for this to occur on the last Friday of every month,  the link will be open for the weekend.  Both Kathi and I are ecstatic about this link and we would love you all to joint us.  Let us see how many goals we can achieve for the year!  So grab our button from the side bar and get your blog ready for Friday!

Just a little reminder that Gelato is featuring in the Hand quilt section of the Spring Bloggers Quilt Festival, I would appreciate your vote if you can spare a couple of minutes by clicking on the heart of the thumbnail of the quilt and voting, Thank You

Why not sign up and follow me, tomorrow I will be posting a new block I have designed and made so stay tuned for my reveal.

Have a great day,

Wendy

Fabulous Friday Fun

Today I was overwhelmed with a parcel I recieved from  my dear friend Kathi.  I said I was looking at this Eiffel Tower fabric online and Kathi suggested that she buy if locally to her and send it to me.  To round out my parcel she included some fat quarters.  I gave her some colours and said surprise me!  Wow was I surprised, they have had me smiling all afternoon since I collected them from my post office after I recieved the notice for collection.  If you would like to see the wonders that Kathi creates you can click here and check out all she has been up to lately.

I can't wait to be able to start creating with these fabrics and show you all so be sure to sign up to follow my blog and see what I create next.  I can't wait to use the cute little needle threader when my eyes are just not coping and I am starting to struggle seeing the eye of the needle.

This morning I was busy with all of the mundane chores on our lovely autumn day.  Around midday all of those chores were complete so I managed to sit down and quilt at the frame on my love calms the seas quilt for my daughter.  I am continuing quilting this tonight as I watch the yearly event of Eurovision song festival.  This has become a tradition of ours  which we enjoy very much.

So as I sit at the frame and quilt and watch television I hope you all enjoy your day or evening doing what you have to do.

Until next time, enjoy the ride,

Wendy
