Yesterday I wrote about my scrap heap challenge, so today I will give you an update on how I am doing with this task. Where do I start, I have accumulated scraps in the past 6-9 months and haven't really dealt with them like I normally do. There are normally sorted after I finish a project into relevant boxes, either small scraps, small pieces fat quarter and then into larger yardage. I always have 2.5" scraps and charms but these have been depleted.
Well I have been cutting a lot of my old small fabrics into 2.5" squares and into charms, I have another box which is taking the smaller pieces which I will use, I have another box for fat quarters and smaller and they are being placed into likely matches for future projects. Whilst I have been cutting the 2.5" squares I have been able to make a couple for my new challenge to help motivate a friend. Today's colour is blue. I am having so much fun with this.
Below are some photos of the fabrics in the sorting and cutting process and then there is my latest fabric which has arrived. It is Kona Solids and I have purchased this from Handmade by Emily

In regards to the Rainbow 9 patches to rid the blues, I will be posting the colours for each day on my Facebook page Wehago Designs click here to check it out.
So until next blog post take time to smell the roses, and enjoy life. I will be quilting and creating and sorting my stash.
Keep smiling
Wendy

ReplyDeleteCarla, I am thinking I will be getting a lot of quilts from them aloud, this is just the first of many
DeleteGreat nine patches... looking forward to your next quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I can't believe how quickly they are coming together and it's heaps of fun to see the things I didn't want to use again come to life in another form
